"2nd Row from the back - 5th from the left is Hannah Elvira (Vi) Jones and to her right is her sister Maud
Vi - who was around 6 years old at the time of this photograph - lived to be 103 years old. She was the youngest child of 8 born to Evan & Edith Jones of Barry. Evan Jones (1860-1905) was a marine engineer and worked in Barry Graving Dock. A plaque in remembrance to him was erected in Dinam Hall when he died. It is now in the possession of Barry Historical Society.

The Welsh National Eisteddfod took place in Barry in 1968 and all the schools in the area combined to perform Benjamin Britten's Noah's Flood. We all got to appear on TV wearing hand-painted, cardboard animal hats - one of the above kids (no names) recently admitted being so traumatised by the event that he or she suffered recurring nightmares. Mrs Evans - a lovely lady - was the choir mistress and she can be seen in the background of the photograph below.
